My name is Taygan Bassi and I am Stray Cat Photographics. I’m an eighteen year old award winning portrait photographer from South Australia, Australia. I specialize in creative fashion photography, portraiture, conceptual and wedding photography.
For as long as I can remember, I have been interested in creative arts and design. From an early age I enjoyed drawing and painting, traditionally and then digitally when I began using Photoshop in 2003. I dabbled in film photography throughout high school (from 2003-2007), but it wasn’t until late 2006 when I really discovered my true passion for photography; when I began working with my first digital SLR.
I’m currently taking on freelance work from a wide variety of clients. I have worked with a number of individuals from fashion and promotional work to personal work.
What I use:
I own 2 DSLR cameras. My older camera is a second hand Olympus e20 and the camera I currently use is a Nikon D80. I use a 18-135mm lens, a 50mm 1.8 portrait lens and a SB-600 external flash. I also own a second hand Multi Blitz lighting kit.
I edit my photos using Adobe Photoshop CS2, and sometimes I use a tablet to assist in the editing process.
Studies and Experience:
I currently consider myself self taught in digital photography and Photoshop post-processing. In 2008, I began a Bachelor of Visual Arts at UniSA, where I will major in photography.

Portrait
My photo packages come in a range from basic to professional. Both half and full day shoots are available.
Portraiture packages start at $150 for an approximate half day shoot (approx. 3-4 hours. Price will increase for inclusion of a make up artist or hair stylist). This price includes an on location shoot in a style of your choice. You will need to provide your own outfit and props unless alternate arrangements are made with myself prior to the shoot.
You will be given a CD of approximately 15-25 edited images in web friendly versions (800 pixels max size) as well as original sized versions for printing. Alternate sized files can be arranged if this is better suited to you.
Weddings start at $250, which includes photographs taken throughout your wedding ceremony, as well as some individual creative portraits of the bride and groom. This also includes a CD of basic edited images in web friendly versions as well as original sized versions. Prints and albums are also available for an additional cost if you are interested (additional cost varies, depending on number of prints required, cost of album and amount of time taken).
Promotional shoots (bands, singers, book/movie covers, etc) start at $100 depending on what is required. Live band photography begins at $50 (which must include free access to the gig).
Prints are available through me if required, as are frames and photo albums. Please note that the cost of the materials will need to be covered, as well as a small fee to cover my time and travelling costs (approx. $3 per 10x8 photograph, and anywhere between $5-$10 for frames or photo albums.)
